After reading some comments I wanted to add that this was meant to poke playful fun at the nature of this game's subreddit. It was not meant to criticize or chastise those who have questions lol.
When I died at 50 I saw the typical comments from LFG chat, but the only ones that stuck with me were from people that I knew or crossed paths with that whispered me personally.
I have a note in my phone dedicated to people who were really kind to me on my HC journey. People who saved me, sent me bags or silver at the early levels, went out of their way to hold my hand while killing Fizzle… every now and then one of their names pops up and I whisper them.
This may be unpopular but I’m super disappointed with this.. I feel like they focused hard on superficial details rather than fixing and finishing things that should be finished like why do we still have this rando ape in the woods with zero function or explanation. I’d rather have the things that aren’t finished to be finished rather than expanding on the mermaids and that crap.
I’m pretty heavily of the opinion they should’ve waited to release the game until it was more polished, but I think what we’re seeing is a disconnect about game development knowledge.
Alot of 3+ Hour long retrospectives are often pretentious and stretched as hell, you almost never need that much time to explain a game or movie unless it is either completely unknown or intricate as hell.
My friend did a pawn (and then the Umbra staff for Taako and Railsplitter for Magnus). She didn’t like people using the extreme teen Bible or his hand as imagery, because they’re not distinct character beats he made. The chess games with John, to her, were prominent moments in Merle’s character arc that Clint got to dictate.
May be recency bias, but I absolutely adored the Meadowlands farm. Beach is very fun too, I love how both of these kinda change what's important depending on the point of the game.
I tend to get overwhelmed with optimizing when I’m given more farming space, so Meadowlands has been great for me. I definitely have never built a well until now though lmao
I just relistened as well. In Eleventh Hour when it’s revealed they’re in a time loop, Griffin says “and something about the dying… feels familiar…” Full body chills.
I’m kinda perversely amused imaging how crazy people on this sub and the fandom as a whole would react to starting the cycle all over after finishing book 3 and realizing it isn’t over.
Horde is much humbler presence, but we’re still there. I’m in Ratchet Yacht Club which is fairly active and has a sister guild on the alliance—Theramore Yacht Club.
